Research
Our team is working on 3 streams of research to create an integrated approach to introducing childhood obesity prevention interventions into routine practice.
Each stream has one or more work areas in common with the others, as well as overlapping investigators to ensure an interrelated, holistic approach. The work of all the streams will culminate in evidence-based recommendations for how policymakers and health practitioners can implement obesity prevention interventions in early childhood that are effective, provide value for money, can be scaled up, and engaging, particularly in groups who are most affected. We work alongside policymakers and health practitioners to support implementation and capacity building.
Stream 1: Effective Interventions
We provide guidance on how early childhood obesity prevention interventions should be adapted or tailored when put into routine practice and for priority population groups.
Stream 2: Efficient Resource Allocation
Our team generates new knowledge that policy decision makers can use to better and more fairly allocate resources for obesity prevention in children.
Stream 3: Implementation and Scale Up
We help improve understanding of the most effective implementation strategies to promote scale up and sustained delivery of proven interventions including for priority population groups.
