At the 2023 Sydney Local Health District (SLDH) Annual General Meeting, Drs Huilan Xu and Limin Buchanan proudly represented the Healthy Beginnings team for receiving a “Highly Commended” in Health Research and Innovation category of the district’s highly competitive Innovation and Excellence Award. This a great recognition of the Healthy Beginnings team including researchers and practitioners from SLHD Population Health and Community Health as well as academic researchers and paediatricians from NHMRC CRE EPOCH and Sydney School of Public Health, The University of Sydney. The team has completed the NHMRC funded CHAT intervention trial overcoming many challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic 2020-23. The results of the Healthy Beginnings CHAT were reported in The Lancet Global Health 2023 and International Journal of Obesity 2023 .
