Rachel Laws is an Associate Professor in Public Health Nutrition at Deakin University’s Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition. Her research focuses on the development and real-world implementation of scalable interventions to optimise early life nutrition and healthy weight gain in the first 2000 days of life. She has a background in dietetics, health promotion and primary health care. Rachel is the lead investigator for a NHMRC Partnership grant evaluating the real world implementation of the evidenced based INFANT program promoting healthy eating and active play from the start of life, alongside 10 practice and policy partner organisations.

Rachel leads stream 3 of the CRE focusing on scaling up and implementing effective approaches to early childhood obesity prevention into policy and practice.
