Colin Bell is a Professor of Public Health and leads the Public Health Medicine theme at the School of Medicine, Deakin University and the global obesity stream at the Global Obesity Centre (GLOBE) – a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention.
Professor Bell’s contributions to research include over 20 years working in preschool and school settings demonstrating that multi-strategy interventions can prevent unhealthy weight gain and improve food security for children in Australia and the Pacific. His current research investigates implementation and scaling up of co-designed interventions targeting children’s health and wellbeing and Pacific Countries.
Professor Bell is an associate investigator on the CRE, providing expertise on implementation and scaling up of actions designed to create healthy food and physical activity environments.
