Promoting Healthy Infant Growth to Australian GPs
Supporting GPs in best practice infant feeding
Professor Elizabeth Denney-Wilson delivered a two series webinar promoting healthy growth in infants 0-2 to over 400 GPs in Australia. The record attendance suggests that GPs are increasingly aware of the importance of monitoring growth in infancy to prevent excess weight gain.
On Wednesday 19th February Professor Elizabeth Denney-Wilson delivered a webinar (the second in a series) promoting healthy growth in infants 0-2 to over 400 GPs. The webinars discussed evidence-based strategies around breastfeeding, formula feeding and how to monitor growth in the first 2 years of life. In particular, supporting parents with not just which formula to choose but how to feed with formula. Learning to understand hunger and satiety cues were emphasised. Resources and strategies to support parents were also provided. The webinar will be available over the next few weeks from the RACGP website.
